Terms of service
These terms govern your use of the Otto Scooter website and our electric moped and e-bike rentals. By renting an Otto vehicle you agree to these terms.
The rental
Otto Scooter rents electric mopeds and e-bikes on flexible terms — Short Rental, Rent-to-Buy and pre-owned purchase. Your rental includes hire-and-reward insurance, GPS tracking, free servicing and breakdown replacement, as described on the relevant page.
Eligibility & licence
To ride an electric moped you must hold a valid UK provisional or full driving licence plus a CBT certificate, and be at least 17. The e-bikes (ETT Trayser 2.0, Cycl Carr-E) require no licence. The person who signs the contract remains fully responsible and liable for the vehicle at all times, regardless of who is using it.
Insurance & delivery use
Hire-and-reward insurance for food and goods delivery is included and valid across Uber Eats, Deliveroo, Just Eat, Stuart and Relay. You must ride lawfully and within the terms of the insurance; using the vehicle outside those terms may void cover.
Payments, deposit & cancellation
Rentals are billed weekly with no credit check. A refundable deposit is taken at sign-up (£200 on mopeds, £150–£200 on e-bikes) and returned when the vehicle comes back in acceptable condition. Rent-to-Buy takes a £400 downpayment instead and transfers ownership after the agreed weekly payments. You can stop at renewal with no penalty.
Damage & breakdown
Fair wear and tear is expected and not charged. Avoidable damage beyond normal wear may be charged, assessed by the workshop. In the event of breakdown, contact the workshop — we aim to provide a replacement the same day.
