A refundable deposit, no credit check — here’s exactly how deposits and damages work.
Is there a deposit?
There’s a refundable deposit — £200 on mopeds, £150 on the Cycl Carr-E, £200 on the ETT Trayser 2.0 — returned when you hand the bike back in the condition you collected it. Rent-to-Buy takes a £400 downpayment instead. No credit check on any plan.
What counts as fair wear and tear?
Normal use — light scuffs, tyre and brake wear from regular riding — is expected and not charged. Damage charges only apply to avoidable damage beyond normal wear, assessed honestly by the workshop on return.
When is my deposit released?
The deposit is refunded after the bike is returned and checked, normally within a few working days, provided it’s in acceptable condition.
What if the bike is damaged in an accident?
On a moped or an e-bike the most you pay is the £1,000 excess — or £250 if you took Damage & Excess Protection at £25 a week. Repair costs up to that amount are charged against the deposit or invoiced, and we always show you the assessment first.
