FAQ

Deposit & damages

No upfront cash deposit — here’s exactly how deposits and damages work.

Askoll eSPro 70 — Otto fleet
Is there a deposit?
There’s a refundable deposit — £200 on mopeds, £150–£200 on e-bikes — returned when you hand the bike back in the condition you collected it. Rent-to-Buy takes a £400 downpayment instead. No credit check on any plan.
What counts as fair wear and tear?
Normal use — light scuffs, tyre and brake wear from regular riding — is expected and not charged. Damage charges only apply to avoidable damage beyond normal wear, assessed honestly by the workshop on return.
When is my deposit released?
The card hold is released after the bike is returned and checked, normally within a few working days, provided it’s in acceptable condition.
What if the bike is damaged in an accident?
If you have optional damage cover, you’re protected up to the policy terms. Without it, repair costs may be charged against the deposit or invoiced — we always show you the assessment first.
