FAQ

Insurance

What’s covered, what isn’t, and how the included insurance works.

Askoll eSPro 70 — Otto fleet
Is insurance included in the rental?
On mopeds, yes — Otto moped rentals include, as standard, comprehensive hire-and-reward insurance, valid for delivery work across Uber Eats, Deliveroo, Just Eat, Stuart and Relay, from the moment you collect the bike. There’s nothing extra to arrange. If you already have your own hire-and-reward policy, ask us about the no-insurance contract — we’ll need to check your policy first.
What about e-bikes?
The ETT Trayser 2.0 and Cycl Carr-E are EAPCs (electrically assisted pedal cycles): UK law requires no insurance to ride them, including for delivery. Their weekly price includes GPS, servicing and breakdown replacement.
What does hire-and-reward insurance mean?
Hire-and-reward is the class of insurance legally required to carry goods (like food) for payment. Standard private bike insurance does not cover delivery work — Otto’s does, which is why you can start earning the day you collect.
Is theft and damage covered?
Third-party hire-and-reward cover is included. If a moped is damaged or stolen, you pay the first £1,000 (the excess). Add Damage & Excess Protection for £25 a week and that drops to £250. It is a waiver of part of your excess, not a separate insurance policy, and it is always optional. Every bike also has a GPS tracker, and theft claims are handled in-house.
What happens if I have an accident?
Contact the workshop as soon as it’s safe. We guide you through the claim, and in most cases provide a replacement bike from Hammersmith the same day so you keep earning.
